Operational Case Officer at the Swedish Customs Control Department
Do you want a varied and meaningful job with exciting tasks where you can contribute to creating a safe and secure society? Do you enjoy working with various administrative tasks but also occasionally performing more physical checks? Can you objectively make different authority decisions while treating people with respect and understanding? Then a job within the Swedish Customs Control Department is for you.
The core operations of the Swedish Customs are divided into four departments: control, customs crime, intelligence, and revenue collection.
Swedish Customs is now seeking shift-working operational case officers for the control department based in Arlanda.
Internal control is the part of the control department responsible for ensuring that the correct customs duties and other fees are charged for goods entering and leaving the country, as well as for monitoring compliance with import and export regulations. The ultimate mission is to ensure that only approved goods pass through Sweden's borders.
About the Position
You will work in one of the control department's clearance expeditions, belonging to an internal control group. Working in an internal control group means ensuring that companies and individuals comply with customs regulations by reviewing and clearing declarations. The work primarily involves expedition work but also vessel clearance and, to some extent, physical checks such as cargo inspections in transit flows. You must be willing to wear a uniform and undergo self-defense training when required.
As a case officer, you work both independently and in a team, making many authority decisions daily. The work is carried out in several different digital systems and involves contact with people from various countries as well as contact with companies, individuals, and other authorities. New questions and situations require you to be flexible and problem-solving as a case officer.
The position is full-time and involves shift work according to a rolling schedule at the clearance expedition in Arlanda, which is open 24/7, every day of the year.
Currently, Swedish Customs is undergoing an exciting but extensive transformation to implement new customs legislation along with new systems. This means you must be curious and interested in learning new things. It also means you will need to work with various digital systems and keep track of different legislations over an extended period.
We are looking for someone who has:

- and/or:
- Completed qualified vocational training/college education in forwarding, logistics, economics, law, or alternatively studies of at least 60 credits / 90 higher education credits with a focus on forwarding, logistics, economics, law, political science, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Good knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Swedish driving license, class B for passenger cars, with manual transmission and good driving experience.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Work experience in case management or case administration from another public sector, or similar tasks within the private sector.
- Experience in customs-related work in the last ten years, for example, from the forwarding industry or from operations dealing with foreign trade.
- Experience in service work or similar tasks, such as customer contact work.
- A third language, in addition to Swedish and English.
